Carat weight is how a diamond is measured and is the size of the stone. The higher the carat, the more expensive the diamond.

Color is judged on a scale from D (no hue) to Z (a yellow hued diamond). Diamonds with less color are more rare and therefore more expensive.

Clarity is how many blemishes or inclusions and is judged on a scale from IF (no blemishes or inclusions) to I-III (included). A diamond with no blemishes or inclusions is rare and therefore more expensive.

Cut is how well the diamond has been cut and includes the height, depth, angles, and other factors. A well-cut diamond will be more expensive than a poorly cut one.

When buying jewelry, it's important to know what you're looking for and what you want to spend. With these tips in mind, you're sure to find the perfect piece of jewelry for you or someone special.
